Borrow or buy a stethoscope, insert a 12 to 18 inch piece of small
dowel rod in the end of the hose in place of the ice-cold thing the
doc presses on your chest. With the engine running, put the rod on the
accessories until you find one that sounds loud. You can easily
pinp-point bad bearings in this manner without having to take the
belt off and spinning them one by one. If you use a small diameter metal
tube instead of the dowel rod, you can find air and exhaust leaks very
easily.
! BE CAREFUL ! not to stick the rod into a moving part.
