Subject: suggestions re:noisy belt-'00 TJ

Has anyone experienced a noisy serpentine belt on a '00 TJ?  Replacing the belt, belt tensioner and the idler pulley has not solved the problem.  Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks.

Are you sure it's not your water pump's bearings going bad or any of the
multiple units driven by the serpentine belt? Is the belt tension set
properly? i.e., not so tight as to put too much pressure on the pulley
bearings of the A/C compressor, Alternator, power steering pump, etc.

Borrow or buy a stethoscope, insert a 12 to 18  inch piece of small
dowel rod in the end of the hose in place of the ice-cold thing the
doc presses on your chest. With the engine running, put the rod on the
accessories until you find one that sounds loud. You can easily
pinp-point bad bearings in this manner without having to take the belt
off and spinning them one by one. If you use a small diameter metal
tube instead of the dowel rod, you can find air and exhaust leaks very
easily.

! BE CAREFUL ! not to stick the rod into a moving part.
