Subject: Playlist + thoughts on live DJing
Well... after spending all day convinced no one was going to show up for
my little Goth/Industrial night, about 60 people came. For a city with
an entirely undetermined number of fans of this sort of thing, that
seems like a decent number for a first effort.

High points of the evening:

-Getting handshakes and thanks from strangers
-People bringing in some interesting music
-Watching a ton of people get down to VNV Nation
-Free coke!
-Gelling well with my DJ partner

Low Points:
-Fucking up the cd player during "Nothing Stays" and bringing the
dancing to a crashing halt
-Having to bring our own CD player because the club had taken it's out
for the previous evening's event
-Realising that Sisters got played about 800 times... I gotta watch that
repetitive shit, requests or no.

I guess the playlist to follow is pretty typical, but I'm glad that for
the most part people danced and seemed happy.
I'm going to try to move some more Industrial stuff into next week's
set, and hopefully get some indie and less well known stuff in.
Suggestions are welcome, RMI is always a source of info and inspiration
for me.

<<Temple of Dreams - Messiah>>

I don't know how many times I've requested Messiah at "industrial" clubs, but
it's never been played for me. I usually just get wierd looks from the
DJs....glad to see someone's playing it. :)
